MicroImager™
Microimager™ is an advanced module for automated image acquisition, capable of sampling image fields or smaller image regions from multiple slides and tissue sections. Furthermore, Microimager™ controls multi-slide stages and slide loaders and allows for off-line image analysis.
With the advent of high throughput slide loaders for use with high content samples, such as tissue micro arrays and sections for automated stereology, the need for convenient and flexible software acquisition tools has never been greater. With Microimager™, time spent setting up comprehensive acquisition and sampling regimes is minimized.
How does it work?
The workflow in Microimager™ consists of five steps
- Create Super Images - Automatic acquisition of lower magnification overview images for all slides positioned on the stage/loader, or for a collection of virtual slide files (requires Whole Slide Manager™)
- Define sections - Automatic or manual detection of regions of interest (ROI) for sampling in all slides
- Select imaging method - Use systematic uniform random sampling to sample a fraction of a region as individual images, stitched images, or z-stacks
- Start automated imaging - Perform fully unattended image capture on all requested slides, populating the integrated image database with a series of images. With the Visiomorph™ module, the sample images can be analyzed during capture and the results stored with the images
- Review sample images - Quickly review the sampled images with an option to automatically retake individual images if necessary
Microimager™ as a platform extends capabilities across a number of challenging acquisition and analysis environments. It provides an ideal basis for automated imaging and analysis solutions as experimental demands grow.
Microimager™ is required for Arrayimager™, Fluoimager™, Whole Slide Manager™, Autodisector™ and Proportionator™.
