Visiopharm works in close collaboration with the world’s leading experts within image analysis and stereology to develop the most advanced and reliable software solutions.

The founders of Visiopharm and various of the employees have Master and/or Ph.D degrees from leading international research institutions which are renowned for their research in image analysis and biomedical research such as the Technical University of Denmark, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Yale University and Columbia University.

Image analysis

Visiopharm technology is designed to facilitate every step in a work-flow from acquisition of microscopic images from prepared tissue sections to data management, and reaching scientifically valid quantitative end-points reflecting important tissue properties. Our highly specialized image analysis tools simplify the unambiguous expression of histological end-points in terms of spectral, spatial, morphological, and contextual image properties. The knowledge and decisions made by expert users are easily stored electronically as user defined protocols and can be repeated by multiple additional researchers for increased efficiency. Our modular image analysis software can be combined with our state-of-the art stereology system for further automating statistically unbiased estimates.

Stereology

Our stereology system is developed in close collaboration with the inventors behind modern design-based stereology methods for unbiased quantification of features of the sample, including volume, area, cell count, length, and density estimation. Our software offers combination of all essential probes for multiple measurements, and incorporates the latest innovations such as the Autodisector and the Proportionator for automating and further increasing efficiency compared to traditional sampling paradigm (as demonstrated in Gardi et al., 2008, J Microsc. 230: 108-120). When combined with our highly advanced image analysis tools, our stereology tool can offer a powerful quantification solution for dramatically reducing the workload in stereological workflow.
