VIS - Entry
The VIS Entry product has functionality for image acquisition with storage in database, image viewing, and simple geometric image measurements.

VIS Entry can easily be extended with extra modules to obtain the full functionality of the VIS system.

Image acquisition, import and export
VIS - Entry system allows for direct acquisition from a large number of different cameras and scanners with built-in functionality for e.g. color calibration and noise removal.

VIS - Entry is supporting a wide range of different image formats, and has built-in functionality that assists the user in importing uncommon image formats.
Storage in database
Good data management starts with storing of acquired images - and other data - in a logical data structure. The VIS - Entry database assists the user in creating a hierarchical structure of Studies, Study Unites and Measurements.

When the first image in a study is acquired, the user is prompted for the study ID under which the image and subsequent images should be stored. The system is capable of automatically assigning unique identifiers for study units as well as the images acquired for each study unit.

In the database, images are maintained in a standard TIFF format which immediately can be imported in any other system.

Data management integrated in the work-flow
All types of data can be stored in the database, which is fully customizable. Data pertaining to the study unit, such as age, gender, bio-marker results can be stored and retrieved from the database.

Image Analysis Functionality
VIS is modular, fully configurable and extensible. In its Entry edition, VIS is equipped with all the standard modules for:

Viewing
Ideal for image viewing, enhancement and navigation in 2-D, 2.5-D, 3-D and "movie sequences" with a minimum of mouse-interaction.

Reliable spatial calibration can be performed even when the calibration object is rotated.

Region growing and phase analysis is included in this module, where labels, annotations and masks are used for obtaining a variety of morphometric measurements.
